Our intention is to offer a first class nursery education to children between 2 to 6 years of age, in a safe and happy environment under the personal supervision of qualified teachers.

The value and desirability of nursery education is now widely recognised. At St. Mark's, our philosophy is to combine the best aspects of the "skills and discipline" approach usually associated with the private sector and the "child centred, progressive and caring" approach usually associated with the public sector. We believe that children in the pre-school age group have a far greater desire and capacity to learn basic educational skills than has been generally acknowledged and our aim is to give our children a crucial head start in whichever sector their education is to be continued.

The school is situated on the edge of Regents Park in St. Mark's Church, St. Mark's Square has it's own spacious premises and outside play area in the gardens surrounding the church. The Zoo and Regents Park Canal and the park are nearby. The school hall is bright, airy, centrally heated and well equipped with lavatory and kitchen facilities.

The number of pupils is limited to 28 and there is always five full time and four part time teaching staff which allows for personal supervision of every child.

The Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education) Inspection of the school wrote: Children's spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is appropriately fostered as they learn about honesty, fairness and respect."

"Children are very confident and their desire to seek further information is encouraged and stimulated through their warm interactions with adults"
